Title: light from darkness
Topic: a spectrum of emotions
Poetry forms sounds, images and ideas out of topics that can be too complex to describe directly. From this, I wrote a poetry book that bring the poems to life through unique and symbolic typography, typesetting and hand-made textures.
My topic explores a spectrum of emotions through a vivid, emotional and personal expression. In this poetic context, spectrum is non-binary. My intention is only to incite different perspectives as each reader personalizes and translates each poem to their individual experiences.
The animation is a condensed version of the poetry manuscript. In it, I read a personal narrative on the emotional qualities of light and darkness. In thinking of the spectrum of emotions, the animation moves through colour gradients to evoke feeling and action in viewers. It plays as an intimate video that aims to inspire viewers to continue searching for light in the midst of darkness.
